A Lafayette police officer who shot an armed robbery suspect multiple times Aug. 4 remains on paid administrative leave as authorities continue their investigation.
Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Capt. Craig Stansbury says 28-yeaer-old Jerome Turner, of Scott, was listed in stable condition Monday at a Lafayette hospital.
Stansbury says the Lafayette Police Department officer, who has not been identified, shot Turner multiple times after the suspect allegedly confronted him in a convenience store parking lot.
Turner is suspected of robbing three businesses in the city of Lafayette and one in Scott.
As of Monday, Stansbury said the Lafayette Sheriff's Office had not completed its investigation.
