The debate over the Lafayette Parish School Boards' resolution to hire an attorney to investigate Superintendent Pat Cooper is not over.
Some school board members are frustrated that Cooper has not signed the document even after the board voted for him to do so.
"This is the type of antics that probably justifies the need for an investigation," said board member Mark Allen Babineaux. "It's doing the things that you are supposed to do, has the authority to do and has the obligation to do that he is refusing to do."
Although the board voted 5-4 in favor of the resolution last month, the document is still unsigned. As secretary to the board, Cooper has to sign the resolution before it can take effect.
Cooper acknowledged that he had not signed the document. He declined an on camera interview Monday, saying that this was the board's issue, not his.
