The Eunice Police Department responded to the Bengal Village Apartment Complex on the campus of LSU-E after receiving a report of a woman being assaulted.
Police say, an ambulance was called to the residence of the victim, a 19-year-old woman, who claimed she was allegedly attacked by her ex boyfriend, Zedrick Gibson.
Gibson was driving a Maroon Nissan Maxima when he spotted the victim, according to police. Gibson then exited the vehicle and allegedly attacked her. According to authorities, the woman was punched in the face and knocked to the ground.
Police say, Gibson then destroyed her cell phone by slamming it on the cement parking lot. While the woman was lying on the ground, Gibson poured his alcoholic beverage on her before leaving, according to authorities.
Warrants for criminal damage to property and simple battery have been issued in case.
