If Brent Indest's third year at Carencro turns out to be a charm, it won't be because it was easy. The reigning 5A state runners-up must replace nearly 6,000 yards of total offense after the departures of quarterback Jalen Nixon (Louisiana) and Alex Johnson (McNeese State). If it couldn't get any worse, Carencro returns just five starters. All that being said, Indest likes his Bears' chances thanks to a senior-laden, albeit inexperienced, group. Cedric Richardson will lead the Carencro offense with running back Jaylan Rose back for another year. Defensively, linebackers Kye Poole and Tim Albert will give stabliity to a group that will welcome eight new faces.
