On August 16th, Lafayette-area community bankers will be giving away $20 in gas to each of the first 200 people at the East University Chevron at 1011 E University Avenue, Lafayette, LA 70501 as part of a nationwide "Take Back Your Banking" effort.
Many consumers feel that they have been taken hostage by the megabanks who charge account holders for depositing their money and continue to pass down more and more fees. The goal of "Take Back Your Banking" is to raise awareness about mistreatment from the megabanks and to show consumers that there is a better way to bank. The new way of banking is about supporting local economies, while highlighting a FREE banking experience that pays account holders for their hard-earned deposits.
The employees at St. Martin Bank & Trust will be manning this event by pumping free gas for event attendees.
