Lafayette Parish School System has received 200 applications from families zoned to attend Alice Boucher Elementary and JW Faulk Elementary schools requesting to exercise choice, sending their children to one of three other public elementary schools.
The 200 applications to excercise choice were received from families with students zoned to attend Alice Boucher and JW Faulk by the Aug. 12 deadline. The number of applications received is equally divided between the two schools. Today, the district's administrators are working with the staff of the choice schools, Carencro Heights, Ossun and Prarie Elementary to facilitate the requests.
Calls will be made directly to the families today regarding the status of their applications and next steps in time for the first day of school. For more information parents may contact 337-521-7076.
