State police say a 57-year-old Marksville man died in a single car accident on La. Highway 1 in Avoyelles Parish over the weekend.
Trooper Scott Moreau says Charles E. Washington was northbound on Highway 1 Sunday morning when his car ran off the road a struck a mailbox, then a tree. Washington was pronounced dead.
Moreau says the Washington was not wearing a seatbelt.
