Groups that put on a volunteer fair in Baton Rouge say they plan to team up again for similar events this year in Shreveport and Lake Charles.
Vice President Matt Mullenix of the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations said his agency and Volunteer Louisiana also hope to hold another round of volunteer fairs next year, too.
They brought more than 20 nonprofit groups together Saturday with service-minded people at their first volunteer fair.
Rachelle Bergeron says that her volunteer work in the past was so rewarding she didn't mind driving 72 miles to Baton Rouge on Saturday morning to find groups new to her.
Web page designer Javier Alberty of Baton Rouge says he was able to get better information than he'd found online.
