Tropical moisture associated with a westward moving upper level low in the Gulf of Mexico will keep the chance of daytime showers and thunderstorms in Acadiana through Monday.
Prime time for activity should be from mid-morning through the mid-afternoon with activity diminishing for the evening and night time hours.
Scattered showers and a few storms will likely develop along the coast during the pre-dawn hours, then build inland with daytime heating.
Rain chances should be in the 30-40% range Saturday, 40-50% Sunday and near 30-40% Monday.
While no organized severe weather is expected, some storms, like Friday's, will produce gusty winds, brief torrential downpours and frequent lightning.
Rain chances may decrease slightly by Tuesday, but they will likely increase by late next week as a frontal trough from the north approaches. While not clear at this time, there is a slight chance of drier weather, for a day or two next weekend...we'll see.
Daytime highs will be closer to the lower 90s through the weekend into much of next week while night time lows stay in the mid-upper 70s.
In the tropics, the Atlantic Basin remain quiet. The upper low traversing through the Gulf should move into Texas by Monday...sometimes these features can spawn a lower level system but that is not expected at this time.
Looking ahead models do suggest disturbed weather may cover a good part of the Gulf in the 8-12 day time-frame.
