The Lafayette Parish School System's Community Education Plan committee will resume meeting on Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
It will pick up with the committee's original responsibilities, which are to review the information compiled by the staff relative to program and facility needs, and review information from the original facilities master plan that was used as the basis for the failed tax referendum in November, 2011.
The committee may also request and review any additional information needed in order to come to conclusions, review possible funding vehicles and procedures for obtaining the necessary funding, conduct necessary site visits and community meetings to obtain community input.
It may then make recommendations to the Lafayette Parish School Board.
The committee began meeting earlier this year, with the last meeting occurring on June 17. At that meeting it was decided that the committee continue its work as they had not concluded with a recommendation to make to the LPSS superintendent and board.
The committee is scheduled to meet on Mondays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.in the Lafayette Parish School System board room, 113 Chaplin Drive.
