The sentencing date of the last of five people who admitted involvement in a bribery scheme involving the 15th Judicial District Attorney's Office has been delayed until December.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Court Judge Elizabeth Foote reset for Dec. 12 the sentencing of Elaine Crump, a former Acadiana Outreach Center case worker who pleaded guilty to one count of misprision of a felony for failing to report the bribery scheme.
All five who pleaded guilty to various charges for their roles in the scheme will now be sentenced on Dec. 12.
Attorneys for the five asked that sentencing be delayed until after the trial of the main target of the federal investigation, Lafayette private investigator Robert Williamson.
