LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A 53-year-old DeQuincy man has been arrested in the 2012 death of his girlfriend.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office says the Anti-Crime and Tactical Team picked up Leo P. Thibodeaux Jr. at his home Wednesday in the death of his then live-in girlfriend, 37-year-old Toni Marie Frabbiele.
Initially, Thibodeaux told detectives Frabbiele committed suicide in his presence. Detectives questioned his account of what happened and asked the Coroner's Office and a crime scene reconstruction examiner to review the case evidence.
The coroner and examiner found that Frabbiele, who was shot twice, was incapable of doing it herself. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Thibodeaux was booked on a charge of second-degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond at the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
