LAFAYETTE - Community Foundation of Acadiana's (CFA) third-annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon will be held on November 15, 2013, National Philanthropy Day, at the Cajundome Convention Center from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. CFA will present awards to individuals or couples from each of its eight parish service-areas who have made an impact in their communities. Nominations for the Leaders In Philanthropy Awards were received from CFA stakeholders, and CFA's Board of Directors Emeriti made final selections. Award recipients will be formally announced in September.
This signature event will also feature keynote speaker Roy Spence, co-founder and chairman of GSD&M, a national and leading marketing communications and advertising company. He is also co-founder and CEO of The Purpose Institute, a consulting firm that helps people and organizations discover and live their purpose. Along with Haley Rushing, Roy co-authored the Wall Street Journal bestselling book, It's Not What You Sell, It's What You Stand For: Why Every Extraordinary Business is Driven by Purpose. His passion is entrepreneurship; his mantra in life is "Don't Do Mild" in work or life; follow your dreams, follow your passion and follow your purpose. Spence will speak about entrepreneurism and charitablegiving.
Luncheon tickets and tables are open to the public and are now on sale. Tickets are $50 each and tables of eight are $495 and may be purchased by contacting Erin Winder at ewinder@cfacadiana.org or 337-769-4842. Acadian Companies and Superior Energy Services, Inc. along with CFA's Gold level Ambassadors are presenting the event. Ambassadors give annually to the Foundation and receive benefits such as waived support fees on Funds and sponsorship of CFA events such as the Leaders In Philanthropy Awards Luncheon.
