The Acadiana Area Human Services District (AAHSD) has been awarded a Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International for their Crisis Intervention, Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient, and Prevention programs. This is the highest level of international accreditation possible.
CARF defines a three-year accreditation as:
"The organization satisfies each of the CARF Accreditation Conditions and demonstrates substantial conformance to the standards. It is designed and operated to benefit the persons served. Its current method of operation appears likely to be maintained and/or improved in the foreseeable future. The organization demonstrates ongoing quality improvement."
According to Brian J. Boon, Ph.D., President & CEO of CARF, "This achievement is an indication of your organization's dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of persons served. Services, personnel, and documentation clearly indicate an established pattern of practice excellence".
Brad Farmer, Executive Director of AAHSD, reports that "Obtaining national accreditation is no small task and it demonstrates our sincere efforts to serve citizens and families with the highest level of care; to operate efficiently; and to go ‘above and beyond' minimum State standards. I am very proud of the staff and their work to accomplish this task".
This accreditation award recognizes AAHSD for demonstrating commitment and dedication to providing services that result in positive outcomes for persons served, and that persons served and other stakeholders are satisfied with the services provided by the organization.
