A New Orleans man charged with possession with intent to sell methamphetamine is suspected of smuggling drugs into New Orleans on commercial airline flights from Texas.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency says 26-year-old Stefen Daigle was arrested July 26 after a DEA agent found 98 grams -- or about 3.45 ounces -- of methamphetamine in his suitcase at Louis Armstrong International Airport.
Daigle was arrested after getting off a Southwest Airlines flight from Dallas.
He is out of jail on $120,000 bond, but has been placed on 24-hour house arrest.
It was unclear whether Daigle has an attorney.
