CLINTON, La. (AP) - Tommy Mead can again visit his friends late at night or study at LSU's library in Baton Rouge and return to his residence in Clinton after midnight.
The Advocate reports the town's Board of Aldermen decided to end an 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. adult curfew during a meeting Wednesday night.
The curfew's cancellation also appears to have ended Mead's federal lawsuit in Baton Rouge without costing the town much money. Mead sued last week for repeal of the curfew.
Justin P. Harrison, legal director of the New Orleans-based ACLU Foundation of Louisiana, said there no longer appears to be any reason for a court hearing Monday on Mead's request for a temporary restraining order barring enforcement of the curfew.
