GRETNA, La. (AP) - A 34-year-old Metairie man has been sentenced to life in prison plus another 99 years for raping and molesting a girl in his apartment.
Michael Wilmot was sentenced Thursday on charges of aggravated rape and sexual battery of a child under age 13.
Assistant District Attorney Jody Fortunato told The Times-Picayune the girl and her mother, who now live out of state, did not attend the sentencing hearing.
Wilmot denied abusing the girl.
