A 37-year-old Morgan City woman is accused of intentionally withholding information on a homicide.
According to a news release, Linda Susie Madise is accused of withholding knowledge on the the murder of Mikki Dautain, which occurred in Morgan City on May 20, 2013. Detectives located and arrested Madise on outstanding warrants. She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
Madise is charged with accessory after the fact to second degree murder and obstruction of justice.
Justin Edward Patterson, 24, of Morgan City, is accused of killing Dautain.
Dauntain was shot in the area of Garber Street and Federal Avenue in Morgan City. He later died at Teche Regional Medical Center. Evidence was uncovered which implicated Justin Edward Patterson-aka "Grippa" as the perpetrator. Justin Patterson later turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department where he was questioned and formally charged with the homicide. Justin Edward Patterson was also found to have been previously convicted on a narcotics violation and prohibited from possessing a firearm.
The area which the shooting occurred was within 1000 ft. of an elementary school. Justin Patterson was booked into the Morgan City Jail for the charges of: Second Degree Murder; Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; Possession of a Firearm within a gun free zone. Justin Patterson's bond was set at $1,030,000.00.
The investigation is ongoing.
