ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Employees of LSU at Alexandria will be receiving a one-time bonus, rather than the recurring pay raise that will be doled out to workers at LSU's main campus in Baton Rouge.
LSU System President F. King Alexander announced last week that employees across the university system's campuses would see salary hikes for the first time in more than four years.
But the individual campuses determine whether the pay bumps will be one-time supplements or a recurring annual increase, based on their finances. They also determine who receives the increases.
LSU-A officials announced their plans Tuesday, saying faculty and staff will get the salary adjustment - averaging 4 percent - based on performance. It will take effect Jan. 1.
