The heat stays cranked up this week as we fall under the influence of a ridge of high pressure. Combining the relatively clear skies with the humidity you can expect to be sweating this week.
Thermometers will crawl into the mid 90s, while that all important heat index will make runs into the triple digits for the next several days.
For the most part the skies will stay on the clear side, but it is never a good idea to rule out showers and storms completely. Although they will be few and far between, one or two isolated showers will still be possible late in the afternoon.
Most showers, however, will take place along the basin and southeastern parts of Acadiana, with better rain chances to our east out of the reach of this high pressure.
The ridge that is responsible for this weather will stay pretty much anchored in Texas so don't expect to see much change at all over the next several days.
Dorian is still trying to redevelop in the Caribbean, but chances are looking less and less likely, even if redevelopment does occur it should move north along the east coast of Florida.
