WATSON, La. (AP) - State police say an unrestrained, front-seat passenger died in a head-on collision of two pickups in Livingston Parish.
Trooper Jared Sandifer says 20-year-old Mickel L. Tetreault, of Livingston, died around 9 p.m. Saturday when the other pickup truck crossed the center line of La. Highway 64 and crashed into the pickup driven by 22-year-old Bryan Payne, of Denham Springs.
Sandifer says Payne, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The other pickup was driven by 28-year-old Samuel Doherty III of Baton Rouge.
Sandifer says troopers took toxicology samples from both drivers for testing.
