We are getting back to our standard summer forecast after seeing a brief influx of rainfall over the weekend. Sunshine will return with only a few clouds drifting by to offer any relief from the heat.
Enough moisture lingers, however, that when you add it with the heat pop-up showers will be possible in the afternoon. Most activity will take place in the parishes, south of the interstate. Any rainfall will be fairly localized.
Temperatures return to just warmer then summer averages and the heat index will be pushing triple digits for the next few days. So make sure you are doing your best to stay cool.
The forecast for Acadiana remains very quiet for most of the work week, with little change expected. Down in the tropics the remnants of Dorian are trying to reorganize, and a small center of circulation is starting to fall.
The system is very small and conditions are slightly favorable for development so it looks like we will be keeping our eye on for the next few days.
