Run With the Fuzz 5K Fun Run/Walk in Bayou Vista Oct. 12

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department Benevolent Association invites you to Run with the Fuzz on October 12, 2013 at the Bayou Vista Community Center.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department Benevolent Association was established in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew struck the parish. Many employees of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office were in need of aid. The neighboring law enforcement agencies, employees, and community came together, answering that call for help and raising the needed funds. The association was born from that idea of helping each other in times of emergencies or disasters. In the following years, employees of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office have funded the association, donating a part of their paychecks each month.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department Benevolent Association Board has, in the past, held fundraisers to help replenish funds. This fundraiser, Run with the Fuzz 5K Fun Run/Walk, promotes health and community. Registration forms may be picked up at either location of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, on the 4th floor of the parish courthouse in Franklin or 1455 Railroad Avenue in Morgan City. Interested participants may also register online at www.Active.com.

There are various levels of sponsorship available for the Run with the Fuzz 5K Fun Run/Walk. The placement of business logos on T-shirts and banners is based on sponsorship level. If you would like to become a sponsor of Run with the Fuzz, contact Race Director Jenifer McDill at 985-384-1622 ext. 28 or email dataentry@stmaryso.com.
