Just before 11:00 a.m, Lafayette Police responded to a call about shots fired on East Simcoe Street, next door to Syrie Funeral Home. The suspect(s) drove by the funeral home at 12th and Simcoe and fired multiple shots in the direction of the building. Police have a possible suspect stopped and have detained people of interest. It is still very early in the investigation at this point.Those who were attending the funeral at the time of the shooting say the person being buried was the victim of a shooting as well. No word yet on any injuries. Waiting for information from police and interviewing witnesses now.
