A Eunice man is facing drug charges. Kenneth Chevis Jr., 23, is accused of selling crack cocaine out of his house at 550 S. 2nd Street. "Officers located crack cocaine, marijuana, and $1900.00 in his possession during the search and he is unemployed. Officers then located located a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, magazines, 9mm ammunition, a digital scale and a wisk with cocaine residue," said Eunice Police Deputy Chief Varden Guillory.
Chevis is charged with Manufacturing Crack Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Violation of the Uniform CDS Law, Illegal Carrying of Weapons and
Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses. "During booking Chevis provided his home address as 550 East Peach Ave even though the complaints, surveillance, and investigation took place at 550 South 2nd Street. A 2003 Buick LeSabre registered to Chevis was also seized since it was used for transport and sales of narcotics while under surveillance," said Guillory.
