During a traffic stop, Wednesday, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office found 20.5 pounds of marijuana wrapped in cellophane. The driver, Brendon K. Preston, 27, of Marrero refused to allow authorities to search his car, but Sgt. Stuart Henderson's K-9 "Tonja" alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle, said spokesperson Kim Myers. The driver was stoped near mile marker 13 eastbound on I-10.
Preston is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $100,000.
