Lafayette residents have a few more days to have their input heard regarding the Lafayette Comprehensive Plan Vision Statement.
A major milestone in the multiyear comprehensive planning process was celebrated with the unveiling of the Vision Statement for the Lafayette Comprehensive Plan on June 30th at the Horse Farm. The statement comes from areas of consensus that emerged from the series of community forums and Meetings In A Box events that ended in May.
The full Vision Statement is posted at www.lafayettela.gov/ComprehensivePlan/VisionStatement.asp. Residents are encouraged to visit the website and read the vision statement, then complete an online survey to provide input. The online survey can be found through the Comprehensive Plan website or directly at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JZ5PJLZ. The deadline for completing the survey is Monday, July 16 by 4 p.m.
"Hundreds of citizens joined the planning effort in the first round of community input in the planning process, hundreds more participated in Meetings In A Box sessions and hundreds came to the Horse Farm at the end of June to read the vision statement," said Durel. "We want to hear from every person who is interested in providing input on this Vision Statement, and we believe that every person's views are important. This statement represents another step toward a shared destination and guides the development of the comprehensive plan to come."
