SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Two people are dead in an apparent domestic dispute that began in north Shreveport and ended in Caddo Parish after a police chase and shootout.
Officials tell The Times the initial call, which came in at 8:28 a.m. Wednesday, reported a man who was threatening a woman with a shotgun and had pulled her inside a vehicle.
When Shreveport police arrived, the suspect led officers on a high-speed chase that ended with the suspect shooting at officers and striking a police car and officers returning gunfire.
During the chase, police reported shots coming from the car. At some point the woman was shot and killed in the car. The suspect was shot and killed by police. No officers were injured.
Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation.
