Journal entries and letters released as part of the evidence in the case against convicted killer Brandon Scott Lavergne, illustrates a picture of his violent and criminal past. Lavergne admits in a letter written to his, now, ex-wife that from the age of 12 he was a criminal; Robbing houses, beating people, selling drugs and even says murder. Labeling himself as "a horrible person." Saying he did it all because he hated himself.
In the journal Lavergne wrote while in jail for his sex offense he writes several times about his longing for his life to end. Saying "I long for deaths release." He goes on to talk about the complete alienation he feels while serving time. Lavergne describes how he is no longer a man, a father or a son, but "in the eyes of society I'm a monster." He asks himself was it worth it? Even writing to his wife about how sorry he was for the sex offense he was serving time for. Saying "a day doesn't go by that I don't say why. I feel sorry for what I done to her and the pain I put her through."
All the letters to Lavergne's, now, ex-wife always starting with "I love you's" but turning darker, saying he never hit her without warning her to stop saying "I warned you what I would do if you didn't stop." During that same stay in jail, the last letter to his wife entered into evidence, talks about the Lisa Pate murder. He writes there's a problem, saying the cops were back and told him they're about to charge him with murder. Lavergne says "I don't know if this is another bluff or the real deal."
Lavergne is serving two consecutive life sentences at Angola for the murders of Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate.
