NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Businesses are being offered loans to make their buildings more energy efficient under an expanding program in New Orleans.
The Landrieu Administration says the loans would come through the NOLA Wise program, which is managed by Global Green USA. The program is a partnership also involving Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance and the U.S. Department of Energy. The Fidelity Homestead Savings Bank of New Orleans has been chosen to package the commercial loans.
The NOLA Wise commercial loans will be available at Fidelity on a first come, first served basis to commercial property owners within the NOLA Wise program.
Energy efficiency measures could include new insulation, improving heating and cooling systems and sealing windows and doors.
