LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - "American Idol" finalist Joshua Ledet's performance of the National Anthem before Saturday's kickoff between McNeese State and Central Arkansas has been canceled.
McNeese spokeswoman Candace Townsend said Friday that Ledet's management said the appearance was canceled "due to unforeseen circumstances." She says no further explanation was given.
Ledet, a Westlake native, made it to the top three on this year's nationally televised talent competition. He was best known on the show for his renditions of "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" and "When a Man Loves a Woman."
Townsend says the Pride of McNeese Marching Band will fill the slot and perform the National Anthem at the conclusion of the pregame show.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
