Fifty years ago this November, Wise Blood and "A Good Man is Hard to Find" author Flannery O'Connor made a stop in Lafayette on a speaking tour of the South.
She spoke at UL Lafayette's Jeanmard Hall on the topic of "The Catholic Writer in the Protestant South."
A symposium to commemorate the event is planned for Nov. 9-10, and organizers are looking for people who attended her original talk.
If you were there and would like to share your memories of Flannery O'Connor or have photos of the event, please contact Dr. Mary Ann Wilson in the UL English Department by e-mailing maw0383@louisiana.edu or calling 337-482-6916.
