UL officials say enrollment has remained stable this semester despite the institute's tougher admissions standards. Total enrollment this semester is 16,687--only 198 students fewer than last year's enrollment. Dr. DeWayne Bowie, UL's Vice President for Enrollment Management, said the university expected to see a decrease in eligible students due to the new academic standards, but the decline this year was "less than projected."
