According to Sheriff Mark Hebert during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Jose Hidalgo Garcia Cardenas, 37, 1417 Federal Ave. Morgan City, lA was arrested on September 17, 2012 at 7:47 am on Hwy. 182 frontage road at the Amelia bridge for speeding and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. A deputy assisting in a school zone observed a vehicle speeding by a crossing guard on Lake Palourde Boulevard. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle did not stop until reaching the frontage road near the Amelia bridge. During the investigation the deputy learned that the driver, identified as Cardenas, had no drivers' license. Cardenas was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond had been set at the time of the press release.
Ronald Anthony Grizzaffi, Jr., 47, 1000 Florence St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 17, 2012 at 10:35 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of violation of a protective order. A deputy located Grizzaffi at his residence on the warrant. Grizzaffi was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $1000 bond.
Savion Patrick Dixon, 19, 740 Julia St. Amelia, LA was arrested on September 17, 2012 at 1:34 pm at the SMPSO in Morgan City on a warrant from Terrebonne Parish for indecent behavior with a juvenile. Dixon was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $150,000.
Jerrick Phillips, 18, 905 Poplar St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 17, 2012 at 5:29 pm at Walmart in Bayou Vista, LA for theft.
Jerel Watts, 19, 512 Levee Rd. Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 17, 2012 at 5:29 pm at Walmart in Bayou Vista, LA for theft.
A deputy responded to a complaint of theft. Upon arrival the deputy learned from store security that employees Phillips and Watts had been caught on video surveillance stealing BB air guns from the store. Phillips and Watts were released on a summons to appear in court on December 12, 2012.
Lance D. Escort, 33, 113 BDC Lane Centerville, LA was arrested on September 17, 2012 at 9:04 pm at his residence for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute. During the investigation the deputy learned that during a verbal altercation Escort struck the female victim in the head. Escort was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond had been set at the time of the press release.
Albert Troy Hebert, 48, 524 Henry St. Patterson, LA was arrested on September 17, 2012 at 11:25 pm at the residence listed above for theft, theft of assets of an aged person, unauthorized use of a movable and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a complaint of a subject taking a vehicle without permission. Upon arrival the deputy learned from the victims, Hebert's grandparents, that he took a vehicle without permission and that a purse was missing from the home. A BOLO was issued for the vehicle. During the investigation the deputy learned that over $1000 in charges had been made to a credit card in the missing purse. The deputy later responded to a second complaint that Hebert had returned to his residence. Hebert was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond had been set at the time of the press release.
