Opelousas Stolen Property Website

When police conduct theft investigations they often end up with "stuff" that doesn't belong to them. Victims' property that ends up in limbo. In Opelousas, they're trying to reunite those belongings with the rightful owners. If you are the victim of a theft in Opelousas, police want you to get your property back.
"Now we want to make it available to the public where they can see for themselves and help us to identify their property," said Perry Gallow.
The website will be made available on Opelousaspd.com a website in the works that will feature pictures of stolen items recovered by the Opelousas Police Department.
To make it easier to identify police recommend you take steps now to protect yourself.
"Keep serial numbers, model numbers of all your property in a safe place in the event that you are victim of a burgarly of theft," said Gallow.
If you don't have a serial number just make sure you put some type of identifying mark on the object so police can return it, if it should ever be stolen. OPD is currently taking pictures of items and should have them posted to its website later this week.
