St. Mary Sheriff's Deputies Captain Jonathan Booth and Lieutenant Sennet Wiggins spoke to a group of second graders at Berwick Elementary on Friday.
Students discussed the duties of law enforcement officers and how deputies keep the public safe by enforcing laws. The children learned how they can help police by being honest, doing what is right, and calling 911 when there is trouble.
The second graders got an up close look at patrol gear such as handcuffs, evidence bags, and bulletproof vests. Students were also treated to a fingerprinting demonstration.
