The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office Crash team continues their investigation into the motor vehicle accident that claimed the lives of two Lafayette men around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, the two deceased men who were occupants of the motorcycle have been identified as Christopher Miller, age 18, of LeBesque Road, Lafayette and Dean M. White, age 34, also of LeBesque Road, Lafayette.
Melancon stated that deputies at the scene learned that the motorcycle was traveling west on Quarter Pole Road and was struck head on at the intersection of Race Track Lane and Quarter Pole Road by an automobile traveling east and being driving by Francis P. Chaisson,60, of Rayne.
White was pronounced dead at the scene while Miller was transported by AASI Air Med to a Lafayette Hospital where he died a short time later. The driver of the automobile was transported to American Legion Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As the investigation continues, charges are pending.
