BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Tangipahoa Parish has been added to the list of Louisiana parishes approved by FEMA for individual assistance grants after Hurricane Isaac.
Gov. Bobby Jindal's office announced the addition Wednesday.
With the latest FEMA approval, 11 parishes are now included in the program that allows residents and business owners to apply for grants for temporary housing and home repairs, and to cover uninsured property losses from the storm.
Individual assistance is also available in Ascension, Jefferson, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist and St. Tammany parishes.
Beyond the grants for housing repair and living assistance, residents and business owners can apply for low-interest federal disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
