The warrant for Brandon Lavergne is for 1st degree murder and Aggravated Kidnapping. Right now, deputies in St. Landry are searching his home. Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton confirms Lavergne's murder and kidnapping charges are connected to Mickey Shunick's case. This is the only information he'll confirm, and he'll release more information during a 1:00 news conference tomorrow. KATC's partner, The Daily Advertiser, was able to get a copy of the arrest affidavit. The report indicates the 33-year-old man was arrested at his Church Point home at 5:45 p.m. Police say Lavergne cooperated with police and his cell phone was seized.
