Mosquito Abatement Times Announced

Weather permitting, The Iberia Parish Mosquito Abatement District will aerial spray Tuesday, August 21 , and Wednesday, August 22 evenings to address West Nile virus indications in mosquito pools and elevated mosquito populations. Operations will begin 30 minutes prior to sunset and last approximately two and one half hours.

During this period, only hypersensitive individuals or those who wish to avoid all exposure to pesticides, please step inside briefly, aircraft will be out of the area momentarily. DO NOT look up to stare or attempt to follow the path of the aircraft.

Operations Tuesday night will include areas east to west from Lake Fausse Pointe to the St. Martin parish line and north to south from Loreauville to Belle Place as well as Daspit, Vida Shaw, Troy Road, Sugar Mill Road, Gondron Road
and Marshfield Road. Operations Wednesday night will include all areas East to West between Jeanerette and Delcambre, South of HWY 90 and just North of Avery Island--specifically, Bob Acres, Poufette, Rydnella, Port of Iberia, Freyou Road, Lydia, Bayou Jack, College Road, Eighty Arpent Road and Patoutville.
