HOUMA, La. (AP) - Terrebonne Parish authorities say they raided a Houma house last weekend and found nearly $500,000 worth of marijuana inside.
The sheriff's office told The Courier (http://bit.ly/MXU7Ac ) Tuesday that 58-year-old Gerard Desoto was arrested in the raid, which ended a four-month investigation by the sheriff and the state's Air National Guard.
Desoto was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance and illegal proceeds from drug transactions.
The sheriff's office said they found 20 marijuana plants valued at $30,000, nearly 30 pounds of hydroponic marijuana with a street value of $223,000; four bundles of marijuana worth $116,480 and 120 grams of hydroponic buds worth $120,000.
Agents also said they found $9,365 in cash.
