On June 15th, 2012, a line-item veto cut $100,000 from The Council for the Development of French in Louisiana, which represents 40% of its operational budget. What does this mean? CODOFIL's ability to serve as the state agency charged with French language social, cultural, tourism, educational and economic develoment activity with be drastically and negatively affected.

FrancoJeunes, a group of young, French-speaking Louisiana professionals ages 18-35 have created a fundraiser called "100,000 Cajuns, Creoles and Friends of French in Louisiana" to raise community awareness and to find 100,000 people to whom the French language in Louisiana is worth at least $1. Contribute your $1 by visiting  http://www.indiegogo.com/100kla
