The St. Landry Parish Council has a new attorney representing them in their lawsuit against Parish President Bill Fontenot. The Council voted last night in an emergency session to appoint John Weinstein to represent them in the case. The St. Landry District Attorney's Office recused itself and Parish Attorney Andrea West from the suit. The council is suing Fontenot to access documents for an investigation it is conducting into past activities of the parish government.
