The Federal Bureau of Investigation is en route to Eunice to assist police in a bank robbery investigation.
Police chief Ronald Dies says the FBI will help his department identify whether or not a device dropped by the suspect is a bomb or some other explosive device. Dies says there are no evacuations in place and that employees have returned to the building.
Investigators say a Hispanic male robbed the Basile State Bank at the corner of West Maple Avenue and College Drive around 10 A. M. and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a long-sleeved shirt with a hood, dark pants, a baseball cap, and a blue bandana over his face. Police do not know if the suspect is armed.
