United Way of Acadiana will transition to a two-year grant funding cycle, effective immediately. The longer term will provide organizations with funded programs the time necessary to produce lasting results.
"United Way of Acadiana launched the PACT (Plan of Action for Community Transformation) United to create lasting change in our communities in the areas of education, earnings and essentials," explained Margaret Trahan, United Way of Acadiana president and CEO. "The longer grant cycle will provide an opportunity to enhance results, volunteer engagement and collaboration around our efforts to create a better life for all."
Organizations receiving 2013 PACT grant awards have the option to extend the current PACT grant contract for their funded programs for an additional period, during which funding will remain the same, pending the outcome of the 2013 annual workplace campaign.
The date of the next PACT Request for Proposals (RFP) release will be announced no later than May 30, 2014.
Forty-one programs earned PACT United grant funding in 2013 to create lasting improvements for individuals and families in Acadia, Lafayette, St. Martin and Vermilion parishes. In April of 2008, United Way of Acadiana launched the PACT United, a community-wide effort to help more children graduate from high school, build financial stability among hard-working families and help neighbors meet their own basic needs.
