A suspect in a Saturday gas station robbery is now in custody, and he allegedly told police another man made him do it.
According to an arrest affidavit, Gerald Bobby Gable held up the Shop Rite at the corner Ambassador Caffery and Dulles Drive. Investigators say Gable imitated holding a firearm by covering his arm with a towel and pointing it at the cashier. They also say another man who went to the store with Gable began to fight with him as the cashier was handing over the cash.
Gable fled the scene and was later arrested at University Hospitals and Clinics. Police say they were able to identify him via surveillance video.
Gable is charged with first-degree robbery. According to the arrest affidavit, Gable told investigators that he was forced to rob the store by another man to whom he owed drug money.
The second subject remains unidentified. Police are also still investigating whether or not this robbery is related to a robbery that took place five minutes later across the street at a Valero gas station.
