Southeastern Louisiana University will offer two courses on novel writing at its St. Tammany Center in Mandeville.
Taught by author Robin Wells, the first five-week course, "How to Write a Novel," will cover the basics of fiction writing, including story structure, plotting, character development, dialogue, description and point of view. The class will be Tuesday evenings, Sept. 3-Oct 1, from 7-8:15 p.m.
The second course, "Advanced Novel Writing," is designed for those who previously completed the basic course and focuses on implementing writing techniques. It will begin on Sept. 9 and be held for five consecutive Mondays through Oct. 7, from 7-8:15 p.m. Each course costs $150.
