On Thursday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. the Thensted Center in Grand Coteau hosts an evening of poetry with Carol Rice and Craig Collette.
Carol Rice holds a degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Theology. She has self-published a chap book entitled self-published chapbook called "Fishing in Louisiana." Her book will be for sale, with sales benefiting the Festival of Words.
Craig Collette began writing lyrics in 1980 after he purchased his first guitar. From there, he started writing poetry and writes in a variety of styles from free verse to haiku.
During the open mic everyone is invited to participate with prose, poetry or music. This free, community event is suitable for all ages. The reading is sponsored by The Festival of Words Cultural Arts Collective in partnership with the Thensted Center. Guests are invited to bring food and drink to share.
