The hot ridge of high pressure that has dominated across Acadiana and most of Louisiana over the last week will break down Friday into the weekend opening the door for deeper tropical moisture (and better rain chances) to return to the area.
A weak inverted tropical trough of low pressure aloft will advance from east to west across the Gulf of Mexico through this weekend which should bring a better chance of scattered daytime showers and storms to Acadiana.
More showers and storms will translate to daytime highs closer to the lower 90s Friday through the weekend.
Typical summer weather is expected next week with rain chances and temperatures very near normal.
The Atlantic tropics should stay quiet for at least another week.
