The Department of Motor Vehicles is working on a design for the new "I'm Cajun" and "I'm Creole" license plates.
According to State Senator Mike Huval, who introduced legislation for the plates, says it will be another three to four months before anyone can purchase the new plates. He says his office is working with the DMV to create a design and color scheme for the plates.
Once released, drivers may purchase the new vanity plates at their local DMV offices for a small fee.
